TRAFFIC SAFETY
The Parish Council has now ordered a Traffic Advisory signboard to alert drivers to take care through the village.
There have been several complaints and a number of incidents involving speeding in recent months. One child on a bicycle recently cut dangerously across the junction of Pitfield Lane into Back Lane without slowing and checking if the road was clear. We would be grateful if children are regularly reminded by parents; they too must take care and to obey the Highway Code.
There are many more horses in Rimpton or riding through; drivers need to take special care. The best course is to stop, allowing the horse and rider to pass safely. Most riders will pull into a gap to allow cars to overtake safely and quietly.
